| | : The sound on Low is so particuliar thanks to Brian Eno's collaboration. Same with Bowie's "Heroes" and "Lodger". 3 albums known as the Berlin trilogy.
Listen to Brian Eno's solo stuff and shoot in stars...

Are you happy ? performed by Microdisney
|
| |
| | : I have to agree. This is one of the most poignant, plaintive tracks I have ever heard, O'Hagan's soaring Telecaster solo launching it into orbit far above the mire of other 80's indie rock. (I think it might have been influenced by Stephen Stills' solo on 'Bound to Lose' from the Manassas album - another guitar solo to make you weep).

| | : A great song, by a typically underrated British pop artist - how many Americans have ever heard of Ian Broudie and are aware of his musical output? The man is a genius.
The break in this song is gorgeous.
"There were times
or moments we'd steal
when i wish that time stood still
knowing it won't
but hoping it will
oh, i'm hoping it will"

|
| | : Yes, isn't this a brilliant, devastating track. I think the out-of-tune vocals are all part of the package! This shares some of the desolate and empty electronic feel of some of Joy Division's work, but puts it into a pop context.

|
| | : Thanks for recommending this! I actually really like the avalanches song, and of course however much Morricone I think I know/have, there's always more! : The "Svegliati e Uccidi" s/track is available at allofmp3.ru,though the best version of Lisa Gastoni singing "Una Stanza Vuota" is not on it only a 7" single version which omits the guitar section which makes the song IMO,the better version of this song features on the "Canto Morricone 60's" record.
