She's Losing it  performed by Belle & Sebastian  1996
Composed by Stuart Murdoch

clever, literate pop with a nice brassy, 60's feel from Scotland's greatest asset. a 3 minute pop song to die for

from Tigermilk (Jeepster/Electric Honey), available on CD (Jeepster/Electric Honey)

The Hymn For The Cigarettes  performed by Hefner  1999
Composed by Darren Haymen

a great pop song, with fantastic, caustic lyrics. "how can she love when she doesn't even love the cinema that I love"

from The Fidelity Wars (Too Pure)
available on CD - The Fidelity wars (Too Pure)

13 Jul 05 ·kkkerplunkkk: Yes I agree! It's wicked! Whether you puff firesticks or not you cannot fail to love this cool song. A Hefner classic.
The Wild Ones  performed by Suede  1994
Composed by Brett Anderson/Bernard Butler

a classic pop song. a huge, sweeping chirus, fantastic production, a great string arrangement, vocals to die for, and great guitar playinmg. the best song Suede have ever recorded, from one of the best albums of the 90's

from Dog Man Star, available on CD (Nude)

20 Aug 01 ·delicado: Yeah, this is definitely one of my favorite Suede songs, and the album has grown on me. I still really like some of their earliest tracks though. Can't get into the heavily polished newer stuff at all.
Simply Thrilled Honey  performed by Orange Juice  1981
Composed by Edwyn Collins

one of a clutch of four almost perfect pop songs released by Scots indie outfit on the Postcard Records label in the early 80s. They went on to be slicker, and mostly remembered for their 1985 hit "Rip It Up". But this is them at their best.

from non-LP single (Postcard Recordings Of Scotland)
available on CD - The Heather's On Fire (Postcard Recordings Of Scotland)

The Streets Of Your Town  performed by The Go-Betweens  1988
Composed by Grant McLennan/Robert Forster

the perfect song for driving in your car on a hot summer's afternoon,

from 16 Lover's Lane, available on CD (Beggar's Banquet)

08 Mar 03 ·eftimihn: I can absolutely confirm that, since i played it various times on the occasion described above. Ivy recently did a very sweet version of the tune on their last album "Guestroom".
