Detachable Penis  performed by King Missile

college band sound. It would be a shame to go through life not hearing this song at least once.

17 Aug 01 ·delicado: having recently heard this song for the first time, I have to reluctantly agree with you. Once is probably enough for me though.
02 Jan 04 ·inbloom44: The First time I heard this song I almost wet myself.
Eloise  performed by The Damned

Here is a song that was done better when it was covered. This is a non-lp track, that the damned did in the mid 80's. Not only is it catchy, but you can't help but love the haunting voice of Dave Vanian.

from Light at the End of the Tunnel

02 Jan 04 ·inbloom44: The Damned at their best.
There Is A Light That Never Goes Out  performed by Smiths

  08 Jan 04 ·inbloom44: That's such a pretty song!
08 Jan 04 ·eftimihn: "and if a double-decker bus / crashes into us / to die by your side / is such a heavenly way to die / and if a ten ton truck / kills the both of us / to die by your side / the pleasure and the privilege is mine" ...seriously, isn't this the most heartwarming declaration of love ever ?
28 Feb 04 ·FlyingDutchman1971: Nothing beats Morrissey's beautifully tortured voice on such emotional songs such as this. A band by the name of 'the Ocean Blue' recorded a great live cover of this song for a 4-track CD single called "Peace and Light".
White Riot  performed by The Clash  1977

This song is a perfect punk masterpiece. It's short, it's superfast and it's pissed off. It doesn't get much better.

from The Clash (Epic)

15 Feb 04 ·inbloom44: I love this song as well!
Dream A Little Dream Of Me  performed by Cass Elliot (a.k.a. Mama Cass)  1968
Recommended by FlyingDutchman1971 [profile]

Does anyone NOT like this song?!! A great nostalgic feel and that glorious voice... A perfect moment in music history!

from Dream A Little Dream (Dunhill DS 50040)
available on CD - Dream A Little Dream: the Cass Elliot Collection (MCAD 11523)

03 Mar 04 ·inbloom44: *sighs* How I adore Mama Cass.
