"Captain Future" was an end-70s Toei Animation science fiction series directed by Leiji Matsumoto (The same team who did all the clips for Daft Punk's singles from the "Discovery" album). For the german release of the series a whole new soundtrack was recorded by Christian Bruhn. The title track is an incredible mixture of funk and disco with sequencers and analogue keyboards galore and very Edda Dell'Orso sounding vocals providing the lead melody (the similarity is striking, but the vocals were performed by Bruhn's wife Erika).

A very cheerful song, with some great piano. The lyrics are funny, if you're into that kind of thing. (I am.)

Who? It's a question I've been asking since I got this 45 as a birthday gift.

A bored admin assistant - "nobody cares for you when you're stuck in the typing pool" - bemoans her position in a squeaky voice. Our narrator intimately knows the concerns of every office worker - "Ere, gotta take a break, it's only twelve o'clock and I'm starving!". Belongs stylistically with Tracey Ullman's first album.

Purveyors of useless facts may wish to know that this was co-written by Nigel Planer, star of the 80's British sitcom The Young Ones.

I heard lots of bad things about this song, like it was the devils work or something....actually it just demonstrates how he could turn his hand to pretty much anything. Electronic, mixed-up, too much going on but i think it works.

An outstanding live reading of this song recorded by Talking Heads� �big band� on the tour to support �Remain in Light� in 1980. Augmenting their original quartet with six extra players, the sound of the group is huge and funky, but appropriately paranoid. Check out the use the of Adrian Belew�s freaky guitar textures � here between stints w/Bowie and Robert Fripp�s soon to be reformed King Crimson, and Dolette McDonald�s cinematic background vocals on the song�s break.
