guitar reminds me (perhaps a sample from) of the smith's "last night at the fair" (I don't think that's actually the title, but track 1 on meat is murder). kind of lo-fi sounding. a lot of fun, but with a serious note- "we're gonna take off of us the 500kilo weight of our soul"

This is my most favorite song in the world. I love it because it is a classic, latin, late 1970's, sultry, soft, dinner party or alone-with-someone-special type of track. The instrumentation is not totally typical of latin music (fast rhythm, very ornate), it is soft and easy. The vocals are absolutely velvety and very sensual. Although it is a "sad" song, it is one of those songs that makes you want think about that special certain someone.

Jeanette has a voice that is forever sixteen. Porque Te Vas, is an upbeat Spanish pop tune layered in big beat and horns. Beautifully meshed with Jeanette's delicate voice, the result is stunning sweetness.

The song appears the 1976 Carlos Saura film, titled Cria Cuervos (Raise Ravens), aka Cria!
