A extreamly funky track that we're not use to hear from Monica. Everything she's recorded are great but this song (and the whole album) is unique. Quite simulair to the work of Blossom Dearie or Astrud Gilberto at the time.
An early solo recording of Joe Strummer. It comes from Aki Kaurismkki's great film I Hired a Contract Killer from 1990. It was released as a 45' but I havn't seen it reissued on CD yet.
Woe, these string arrangements is way too much wich make this song lovely song amazing, very close to pathetic and still great. The sentimental lyrics "when I lost you love the music playd..." sung with Monros deep sinatra-like voice is thrilling, and again, the strings, the strings...
I've been absolutly crazy about this song ever since I first heard it on the radio. It's from the great Lady in satin album. A very sad song, some of the last she recorded, and many people said that she couldn't sing anymore. Her broken voice is perfect for this song
Wonderful work from the Swedish band The Knife. This song was also recorded by the singer/songwriter Jos Gonzales but this is the original and it's great. If you like bands like Ween you'll probably love this.
available on CD - Deep cuts (Rabid)
