I love that word ECLECTIC! It cools the mouth just to say it! I guess I dig your usual pseudo-hipster stuff: lounge, freakbeat, psychedelia, etc.. I've been known to listen to anything that has one or more of the following elements: 1. A killer groovy beat (this can anything from the Beatles to a swinging 60's soundtrack) 2. A haunting vocal (see Nora Jones, Dusty Springfield, Sting, Dionne Warwick, Sade, Chris Connor, Irene Kral, Joanie Sommers, Jack Jones, this list could go on...) 3. Anything that gets you off your ass (garage, punk, techno, 80's, dance, etc..) 3. Anything that makes you feel chilled-out but still cool at the same time (bossa-nova, hip be-bop jazz, slick instrumentals) 4. A strange male tenor-rock sound (from Journey and Survivor all the way to James and Robbie Williams). Weird, huh?
