I don't think this song needs an introduction because love or hate Coldplay, most people should know this song by now. It's their most famous anthem, and is a truly beautiful song. The melody and harmonies sound amazing, and Chris Martin's vocals are really outstanding. The lyrics are really cool, and the guitar/bass sound great as well. And as I type, I'm 3 hours away from seeing them live at Crystal Palace! ^_^ Five out of five.
Dark, majestic, tender, subtle instrumental music which is of immense quality and beauty. There are several other high points on this...it's very worthy of investigation!
Unfortunately the British CD has nasty copy control technology on it which I'm pretty certain is going to stop me listening to it on an mp3 player. Oh well...

This is a blistering version of this Joe South song which was a hit in America for The Osmonds. It was originally on Cilla's 1968 album 'Sheroo'. You can hear it on on CD on Cilla's 'Cilla In The 60's'. Cilla's version of this is brilliant, she really gets going and gives it everything.
from Sheroo (Parlophone) available on CD - Cilla In The 60's (EMI)
This is a great version of the song from 'Hair', when I first bought the Cilla album from which this came, this for me was intially the stand-out track. Its a very powerful version and Cilla really does justice to it.
from Surround Yourself With Cilla (Parlophone) available on CD - The Essential Cilla Black 1963-78 (EMI)
