I am not familiar with the original by Francoise Hardy, but consider this version to be very hauntingly expressive. The artist's interesting and highly effective fusion of the middle eastern and western is as prominent as in her other recordings.
This belgian artist was very popular up to the second half of the 70's I believe.
I got to really enjoy most of his tunes because that is what my dad would listen on his 195? reel to reel.
I was able to find most of his albums online.
Very good channel separation.
Enjoy

07 Jan 08 ·n-jeff: Yeah, Andre Brasseur is top stuff, ranging from go-go Hammond cheese to some really nice low country funk. Theres a live album with a killer version of, um, The Duck. Tasty.
A wonderfully weird piece of synth pop from Belgian electro pioneers Telex ,a sublime layered ,warm pop song ,both commercial and avant ,its repetition is its strength ,the tune seemingly going nowhere but all the time rushing to the part of your brain that says "this is f---ing brilliant,it celebrates life in the moment and the mundane and cannot fail to improve your mind and your day.
