Tous Les Garcons Et Les Filles  performed by Francois Hardy  1977
Composed by Hardy/Samyn

sways-ville.

from The Greatest Hits of Francois Hardy (Vogue/Peters International PLD 2000)

Many Dreams Ago  performed by Jan Howard
Composed by Harlan Howard

heartbreaking early 60's country with a slight sophistication.

from Jan Howard (Wrangler WR1005)

Live and Let Live  performed by Rose Maddox  1966
Composed by Wiley Walker/Gene Sullivan

weary and so, so sad.

from The One Rose (Capitol T1312)

17 Jul 06 ·n-jeff: The One rose is (another) one of my favourite LP's. And In My Humble Opinion, one of the underated classics of Country and Rockabilly. This isn't the track song I would have chosen off it, preferring the twangier uptempo stuff. Which isn't to say its not a great song, it is.
What’s the Reason (I’m Not Pleasin’ You?)  performed by Fats Waller  1935
Composed by Poe-Grier-Tomlin-Hatch

gregarious stride man shows you his stuff.

from Handful of Keys (RCA Victor LPM 1502)

Red Right Ankle  performed by The Decemberists  2003
Composed by Colin Meloy

this is the story of... a very literate and charming band.

from Her Majesty...the Decemberists, available on CD (Kill Rock Stars)
