If I Were a Bell  performed by  Blossom Dearie  (1958)
Composed by Frank Loesser
From: USA
Mood: classy and cool
Recommended by malpt [profile] on Saturday 31st January 2004

This song is from my favorite musicals, Guys and Dolls. Blossom Dearie's version of this song is, in my opinion, the best. It's because of her voice. She's a musical marvel.

from Once Upon a Summertime, available on CD (Polygram Records)

Other Versions: Isabel Bigley from the Guys and Dolls broadway cast recording (1950); Jean Simmons from the Guys and Dolls movie soundtrack (1955)
