I'm a personal fan of the grunge/alt rock scene of the late 80's to 90's, Pixies, NIrvana, Janes Addiction, Social Distortion, Pearl Jam, etc. and the subsequent 90's alt rock that spun off of it...Foo Fighters, Spacehog, etc. I am also a listener of classic and folk rock of bands like Skynard and Neil Young to Zeppelin, the Band, Joplin...etc.
I additionally like Hip Hop , Jay-z, Mos Def, Tribe Called Quest...but my heart is in rock. I have quite an eclectic taste although i draw the line at most country music with few exceptions. Typically the country i like has a lyrical quality to it that is folk or is considered a rock song as well. If music is meant to do something to me and it does it successfully, i usually like it.
