This track is from Neko Case's first solo effort of the same name.
Case was born in Virginia, raised in Olympia, Washington, and now lives in Chicago.
She did a degree in fine arts at the Emily Carr School of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC. It was in Vancouver that she joined grrll group Maow who recorded two CDs for Mint Records.
After Maow disbanded Case recorded her alt. country album 'the Virginian' also for Mint.
'The Virginian' is an astonishing song from a great solo debut by gifted artist.

'Catscan' is an absolutely hilarious number from chanteuse Carolyn Mark (and the Room-mates).
This song is about mutual recrimination, fidelity and growing old with the one you love (and hate), and could easily be a duet between Archie and Edith Bunker.
Wonderful stuff!
It is on Mint Records and can be ordered from: http://www.mintrecs.com/
from Terrible Hostess (Mint Records), available on CD
Keith Carradine composed 'I'm Easy' and performed it in Robert Altman's 'Nashville'. His rendition won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Song in a Motion Picture in 1975.
Tolan McNeil of Carolyn Mark and the Room-mates covers it to great effect on the album 'Nashville', a tribute to Robert Altman's film.
Also appearing on this tribute album are Neko Case, Kelly Hogan, Carolyn Mark and Dallas Good (of Toronto's 'the Sadies').

Powerpop the way its meant to be. The opening track on canadian`s Mark Kleiner fabulous debutalbum is just as uplifting as the songtitle might imply. Piano, guitars a killerchorus and songwriting with such an effortless flow that it blows away all the recordcollecting dust that usually litters the genre.
