This is a comp of all kinds of weird and wacky versions of this Exotica standard. From the first version by Les Baxter though one recorded just a few years ago by Mr. Bungle. Many of these will be familar but I'm guessing some of them won't. I tried to keep it to stuff not already on the Exotica Trilogy volumes but have included a couple to complete the variety of music and fill out the CD. Perhaps the most interesting is the second of Arthur Lyman's version of "Taboo". Listen at 2:42 and you'll hear a familiar refrain (certainly not a coincidence!) |
